Random creator outreach does not scale.
If your team finds creators manually, sends messages inconsistently, forgets follow-ups, negotiates without clear terms, and tracks campaigns in scattered spreadsheets, your TikTok influencer marketing process will eventually break.
That is why you need a TikTok creator outreach SOP.
An SOP, or standard operating procedure, gives your team a repeatable workflow for finding creators, contacting them, managing replies, negotiating terms, confirming deliverables, and tracking results.
This guide gives you a practical TikTok creator outreach SOP from discovery to deal.
Before searching for creators, define the campaign goal.
Common TikTok creator campaign goals include:
Your campaign objective determines the type of creators you should contact.
For example:
Next, define what a qualified creator looks like.
Your criteria may include:
Do not rely only on follower count. A creator with strong niche alignment can be more valuable than a larger creator with a broad but irrelevant audience.
Use several discovery methods to build your initial creator list.
Search by keywords, hashtags, product categories, and niche terms.
Review creators who have worked with similar brands or products.
Look for creators who already promote products in your category.
Use TikTok creator outreach tools like KOLSprite to search creators, review content, analyze performance, and build structured creator lists.
Find creators behind trending TikTok videos in your niche.
After discovery, qualify each creator before outreach.
Create a scoring system based on:
A simple score from 1 to 5 can help your team prioritize.
Example:
| Criteria | Score |
|---|---|
| Niche fit | 1-5 |
| Content quality | 1-5 |
| Audience relevance | 1-5 |
| Engagement quality | 1-5 |
| Product fit | 1-5 |
| Outreach priority | High / Medium / Low |
Only contact creators who meet your minimum qualification standard.
For each qualified creator, identify the best outreach channel.
Check:
Record the contact method in your outreach tracker.
Your first message should be short, personalized, and specific.
Use this structure:
Subject: TikTok collaboration idea with [Brand Name]
Hi [Creator Name],
I’m [Your Name] from [Brand Name]. I found your TikTok content about [specific topic], and your video on [specific video] stood out because of [specific reason].
We’re planning a creator campaign for [product/category] and think your style could be a strong fit.
Would you be open to receiving the campaign brief?
Best,
[Your Name]
Every creator should have a status.
Use statuses like:
Without clear statuses, your team will lose track of conversations quickly.
Most creator outreach campaigns need follow-ups.
A simple follow-up schedule:
Hi [Creator Name],
Just following up on my previous message about a potential TikTok collaboration with [Brand Name].
We think your content around [topic] could be a strong fit. Would you be open to receiving the brief?
Best,
[Your Name]
Do not spam creators. Keep follow-ups polite and professional.
Once a creator is interested, send a clear brief.
Your TikTok creator campaign brief should include:
A strong brief reduces back-and-forth and improves content quality.
Negotiation should cover more than price.
Confirm:
If the creator’s rate is too high, adjust the scope instead of simply asking for a discount.
Before production starts, confirm everything in writing.
Your TikTok influencer contract should include:
Even for small campaigns, written confirmation matters.
During production, keep communication clear.
Track:
Avoid changing the creative direction after the creator starts working unless absolutely necessary.
After the content is posted, track performance.
Metrics may include:
Do not judge performance only by views. A smaller video that drives qualified traffic or sales may be more valuable than a viral video with weak purchase intent.
The best creator programs are not one-time transactions.
After the campaign, review:
Tag strong creators for future campaigns.
Long-term creator relationships can reduce outreach time, improve content quality, and make your TikTok influencer marketing more predictable.
Use this checklist for every campaign:
A TikTok creator outreach SOP turns influencer marketing from a messy manual task into a repeatable growth process.
The better your process, the easier it becomes to find the right creators, get replies, negotiate fair deals, and manage campaigns without losing control.
